So, been doing medical check ups over the last few weeks...

And nothing outstanding.

Nothing weird with brain chemistry and neurological reactions.

No major outstanding medical issues other than back muscle related issues and exercises to do and nagging to take more walks and get more activity. And cut back on salty food for blood pressue.

Nothing strange with my eyes.

Nothing. Hrm.

I hope it's. Just. Nothing.

Hmm, it might've been something medical checks don't really pick up on, especially if it was something supernatural in nature.

Hopefully it is just nothing though, but I guess we won't really know for sure unless it happens again.

I feel like if there is something supernatural going on, a trace of something should be there...

If it happens again.

Possibly, unless whatever it was was able to go dormant again with no trace.

That's what has me concerned.

Why there are no traces.

And not knowing exactly what it was makes it difficult to find a way to see if we could make it happen again.

It could be something you only tap into in a dangerous situation, or when your emotions are running high.
Strong emotions are often massive triggers which cause people to tap into supernatural abilities that they otherwise knew nothing about.

Is that how it worked for you?

Yeah, pretty much. The whole Supreme King powers ended up being triggered during a really difficult and stressful time and even after that, I remember how it used to flare up with my emotions, before I was able to gain control over it.

It could be that it was something that flared up due to the intensity of the situation, but it's since gone back to being dormant now you're not in that situation anymore.

And naturally the one time I had power, I have no memories of.

And I felt like I just 'snapped' mentally for the second more recent case.

Do you think the research you've been doing into Fujiwara's notes has any relation to this at all?
Like, maybe you're understanding something in the notes on a subconscious level and it's helping you access a part of you that you didn't know was there?

Yes.

And I get the feeling I'm following a script laid out by Fujiwara.

Knowing Fujiwara, more than likely.

So I guess the question is whether you want to keep following that script and see where it leads, or stop where you are.

I should stop.

I have you and Asami and you're usually more than enough.

But something keeps nagging at me to keep digging deeper.

I don't like the feeling of ignorance and helplessness.

Well, no matter what you decide to choose, I'll stand by you.

If you decide to continue digging, we can always use one of the big monitor rooms we have at SAI to see if there are any changes while you are looking through Fujiwara's stuff or any changes while your dueling too. We mainly use those rooms for analysing psychic duelists, but the computers would pick up on anything unusual that a medical examine wouldn't, like spikes in Duel Energy, Psychic Energy or other anomalies.

Huh, didn't know we had that.

Oh yeah, the Arcadia Movement had these analysing rooms back before we took it on. It was leftover equipment back from when Divine ran the place, but the funding we get covers us being able to keep the computers up to date and pay a couple of tech people to run them (cos like hell do I know how they work.)

... I'd take a closer look and learn them myself but between school, dealing with the avalanche of new regulations from the Diet on reforms to the school, self defense classes, Fujiwara and Asami.

Don't have time right now. God I wish I had more time.

Yeah, that's understandable.

But, it's an option we have, at least, if you decide to keep digging into Fujiwara's notes.

Right, we'll do that though the next time we get any more of those.

I think we have like roughly 30 to 40% of his total notes.

Hmm, so we're still missing quite a bit.

We'll have to continue being careful with them too, as I imagine those Tengu will still be after them, and who knows what they'll try at this point.

Yes.

And I suspect they're not the only group or persons interested in these notes.

Fujiwara made a name for himself early on and then after you and Johan Dueled him.

Yeah, that's true.

I feel like these notes are putting a pretty big target on our back, but I feel that those who would want them, are the types that shouldn't have them.
