[Dream & Event Post]

::Asuka in her dreams, finds herself at a table in a wide green garden. The table encircled by a low wall, the sun beaming down, birds tweeting, the grass blowing back and forth in the breeze.::

Event
::It's late at night or early morning at Sakana, and you can find Asuka sitting out at the front entrance sipping coffee. Let's assume you haven't had the best rest either, and you run into her..::
Re: Event
One thing I did find is their previous CEO vanished in a plane crash and they never found the body.
And as I said, there's other things on my mind.
Re: Event
From personal experience, I know 'vanished and assumed dead' isn't always the truth of what happened.
Look at my parents. We thought something similar had happened to them, then my brother found them in a completely different world.
And coming from a company like Leo Corp, I'm inclined to believe it even less.
*Akari takes a moment to take another sip of her coffee.*
I won't pry if this other stuff is personal, but I'm here if you want to get stuff off you're mind.
The rest of my family won't be up for a while anyway.
Re: Event
What do you do when you feel you're the odd one out.
Re: Event
I guess I'd just find a way a way to deal? I dunno. Feeling like the odd one out is difficult but... most of the time you really aren't the odd one out, even if you feel like you are.
Re: Event
I keep telling myself that, but it rings hollow.
Re: Event
*Akari looks at her curiously.*
What are you feeling the odd one out with?
Re: Event
Everything. I feel like a stranger at times, and useless at others, with being able to help people personally important to me.
Re: Event
*Akari lets out a small sigh.*
I kinda know how you feel with that last part sometimes.
The last few years my brother has gone through some crazy stuff, a lot of which I don't really fully understand and all I can do is just stand by and watch.
And now Kotori's going through her own crazy stuff and I can't do much to help there either.
Re: Event
Well, I don't want to stand by and watch. I've done that enough. And I don't want to be unable to help a friend who lost her mind.
Or just standby and watch my husband come home with gunshot and sword wounds.
Re: Event
*Akari is silent for a moment before replying.*
Sounds like you've had to put up with a lot.
I don't really want to be the 'stand around and watch' type either, but it's hard to know how to be proactive against such situations.
I tried to be proactive in telling the truth about Heartland but when I started uncovering more information, I completely got shut down by some unseen force that threatened my work place so bad that I can't do articles on Heartland anymore.
Granted, my family has a belief of 'never giving up', so I've honestly considered running an anonymous blog to carry that on, but I feel whoever threatened where I work would find a way to shut that down too.
Re: Event
I think you should try and do it anyways.
Re: Event
*Akari looks down at her coffee mug for a moment in thought, before a more determined expression appears on her face.*
You know what? You're right. I should just do it anyway! You don't get anywhere if you don't try, even if the odds are stacked against you! I know my way around computers and I sure as hell could set up some defences or at least make it difficult if anyone DOES attempt to take it down!
I want to be the pain in the ass for whoever is trying to cover up what really happened there and is lying about the involvement of duel spirits!
Akari's gonna kattobing!!
*Well, that certainly got her all fired up!*
Re: Event
Kattobing. That sounds like something my brother would come up with.
Though if you need any help with this, I'd be glad to do what I can.
::Gives a smile.::
Re: Event
*Akari smiles back at her.*
I think I could use all the help I can get.
And likewise, if you ever need any help with anything, just let me know. I think people like us need to stick together.
Maybe we're not like your husband or my brother, but we can still get things done!
Re: Event
::Feels a bit confident, I'm not alone! And... that's right, I can still do something.::
That's right. We can.
It might not be on the frontlines like them. But we can always do something else, it doesn't always have to be on the frontlines...
Re: Event
There's a lot we're good at, that they wouldn't even think of doing.
And sometimes, working in the back is a positive, especially if we're looking into or dealing with things that we may need to be careful about.
Re: Event
And if it helps, I'm planning to do one of those Duel tests at LDS soon, so I'll try to keep myself alert.
Re: Event
I've heard about those tests.
If I remember right, Yuma took part in one of those a while back. He said it glitched out at the end and the hologram he was dueling tried attacking him or something like that.
Re: Event
... Something to definitely keep an eye on.
