So. Does anything know anything about a "Leo Corporation" or "LDS", as I've been doing research on them for business reasons.
I haven't been able to find too much:
- It seems to be a family owned business based on the high ranking executives names?
- They're based out of Maiami City, which I think is one of several towns that got special exemptions and deals from the national government?
They seem to have uncanny parallels to Kaiba Corp, having a few patents on modern updates to the Solid Vision patents, for the luxury-grade Action Duel System, said family seems to run the company, and they apparently run their own Dueling school? And they seem to have some dealings with Industrial Illusions.
But I can't seem to find any real in-depth information of how they grew, how daily operations though it looks like they're taking a bite of some of Kaiba Corp's market share recently.
Nor can I find much information on Maiami itself.
It's like the company and the city are black boxes. That's almost extremely rare in this day and age. The only other places with that much obfuscation in this day and age are Mainland China and North Korea... and "Heartland City".

Date: 2014-12-04 05:04 pm (UTC)I know some stuff about Leo Corporation and LDS...I didn't go there, but they've got ads for them on TV and buses and billboards and online like. Every five seconds.
It was actually really annoying.

Date: 2014-12-04 10:51 pm (UTC)So why the thick layer of secrecy from your hometown, Miss Hiiragi?

Date: 2014-12-04 10:53 pm (UTC)It's kinda like this in Maiami City too. The only way to get access to every kind of card is to be an elite student at LDS - the rest of us don't really have any access to Fusion, Synchro or Xyz cards. Something about how they have a direct deal with the distributor...?
That's pretty annoying too. I wound up totally bombing my entrance exam because of it.

Date: 2014-12-04 10:57 pm (UTC)So a company town, except you have to enroll at the company, presumably as a well off child...
Is there any justification besides "The Elite" in your town, for the access of product, Miss Hiiragi??

Date: 2014-12-04 11:17 pm (UTC)Justification? Not that I know of. That's just how it works. I mean, LDS is the biggest company in town and far as I know, they always have been. I asked my dad why they get to decide who gets what like that, but he couldn't give me an answer.

Date: 2014-12-05 05:58 pm (UTC)... How curious.
It's as if the management wants everything unknown, but why.

Date: 2014-12-05 06:56 pm (UTC)Why do you want to know about Leo Corporation, if you don't mind my asking?

Date: 2014-12-05 07:16 pm (UTC)I'm trying to make sure, how do I put this.
That they don't have skeletons in their closet.

Date: 2014-12-05 07:22 pm (UTC)Oh man, are you Asuka Yuuki?!

Date: 2014-12-05 07:34 pm (UTC)Yes, I am.

Date: 2014-12-05 07:38 pm (UTC)I didn't know you guys were partnered with LDS, though! I didn't know they even did this kinda stuff...
no subject
Date: 2014-12-05 07:41 pm (UTC)Nor did we. But their secrecy bothers me. I've had a long history with "People and companies with dangerous skeletons in their closet", and I'm trying to make sure we aren't accepting their help completely blind.

Date: 2014-12-05 07:56 pm (UTC)Yeah...they're kinda shifty, aren't they!? But I dunno how you could really find out more, even if you went to Maiami and directly asked them...

Date: 2014-12-05 08:02 pm (UTC)Leo Corp blocks transmission of tournaments? I'm assuming no explanation why?
... Why, are the upper management known for secrecy?
no subject
Date: 2014-12-05 08:25 pm (UTC)Well, I guess I'm just guessing...if you can't find much info on Maiami City and Leo Corporation, they're probably not gonna be that much more upfront about it in person...although if they wanna partner up with your guys' foundation, I guess they could be?

Date: 2014-12-05 08:53 pm (UTC)... So far further e-mails, faxes and phone calls have been elusive outside of automated messaging.

Date: 2014-12-06 05:45 am (UTC)I take it back. You should totally go down there and ask them your questions face to face.
no subject
Date: 2014-12-06 05:51 am (UTC)But I think someone from the foundation should look into this, yes.
no subject
Date: 2014-12-06 06:51 am (UTC)Well...I hope you get some answers from them, one way or the other! It kinda bugs me that they can do whatever they want without explaining it to anybody.
But. If they're gonna help you're organization, I hope you can reach a good conclusion, too.

Date: 2014-12-06 07:01 am (UTC)Anyways, thank you, Miss Hiiragi.
