::In the courtyard of Sakana, it's a bit of a warm evening, as Asuka sits there wearing a baggy shirt and some brown shorts, sucking on an ice pop, kicking her feet.::

It's a really nice evening.
no subject
A bit of a warm one, but not in a bad way.
::Looking up.::
Asami laying down?
no subject
Yeah, she is. It took a bit, but sleep won in the end.
A couple of the Neo Spacians are playing cards in the kitchen, so they'll let me know if she wakes up at all.

Pfft, not sure how much of a 'political embassy' it would be when all they really do is play solitaire or whatever around our kitchen table.

::Waves her hands.::

I wouldn't really know how to do anything like that.

::Thinking wistfully.::

I guess it didn't help that others liked the ideas he came up with too, but completely ignored what you actually wanted.
no subject
But, this'll sound strange...
I've never felt really like a girl or a woman, and it feels strange when people try to pigeonhole me like that?
no subject
Gender can be a weird concept, huh.
There's lots of stereotypes that people like to shoehorn other people into.
Girls should do this, boys should do that... but it's not really as simple as that.
Gender, just like sexuality, is more of a fluid kinda thing.
*He looks back over at her.*
So I don't think it's strange that you feel that way.

::Snorts, surprised by your answer.::

*He gives out a light laugh.*
I'm far from an expert.
I guess knowing people who have, mostly magically in some way, either changed gender, or sit in an in-between themselves help.
And being fused to a monster which is also pretty gender fluid, not that Yubel really cares about that kinda stuff.
no subject
Huh.
::Sucking on the ice pop, thinking about this.::
no subject
It does make you think about how flexible feelings on gender can be though, so I don't think it's strange to question how you feel about it.

Like I like the fact I'm a mother, but. I don't like all the like. Social expectations of it.
I went to Duel Academia to become a better Duelist, but I was always expected to be leveraging Dueling for marriage or as an idol, and not a love of the game itself...
Like.
I don't want to be a guy, or I don't think I do? But. I hate the boxes that having been born female automatically seem to shove me into. Doubly so with how my body developed... I hope this makes any sense.
no subject
There's just a LOT of really outdated stereotypes and expectations that are put on women. To marry, to have kids, to be a social butterfly, to wear specific things... but not everyone wants those things, or they don't want to feel forced into them. So, it's understandable to feel kinda complicated on the whole issue of gender and the expectations it can bring.

It wouldn't bother me at all. I think it's good for you to explore yourself as a person and maybe find a way to live more truer to yourself.
If there is anything you want to change, like pronouns or something like that, just let me know.

::Takes a deep breath.::
This is going a lot better than I expected.
no subject
I think sometimes when it comes to discussing personal stuff, we kinda think of the worst outcomes.
no subject
It was more I expected this to all fly over your head.
I mean this without malice, but high-ended things like this tend to not be your forte.
::Laughs awkwardly.::
no subject
*He gives out a little laugh.*
I think if I was younger, it absolutely would've gone way over my head.
But I think years of meeting and knowing really diverse people and monsters has kinda opened me up to a lot of different things, different situations, different thoughts and opinions... and I kinda learn from them, I think.
And I want to be supportive of stuff like this too.

::Smiles.::

Sounds good.
